annual best friend trip

Once a year me & my three best friends make a trip down to St. Augustine to shop, eat, & chat about anything and everything.  When I say my best friends, I mean my best friends, we have been friends since we were in diapers.  As a group, we can be super supportive and then turn around to be brutally honest, I think this is the best kind of friendship.

We have done this trip for about three years now, and every year is usually the same but we enjoy this beautiful little town & our friendship that continues to grow.  I love these girls so much & I can't wait until next year.

a fall day in florida

Being home with my family for the past ten days has been amazing & exhausting all at the same time.

When I walked out of the airport, I was hit with the Florida humidity (something that I was getting use to not having around in Washington).  It took a while trying to get use to the hottness, you would think that since I have lived in this weather for 24 years it wouldn't bother me.. Well it does ..

The last day of my vacation home, I woke up to 70 degree weather and hardly any humidity.  I felt like I was back in Washington.  So in honor of it being a fall like day, I decided to dress like one.

lazy day outfit

there is not anything as basic as a pair of boyfriend jeans, a striped tee shirt, & a pair of leopard print flats.  this outfit was worn to shop to pick up new khakis for work, pick up chipotle for lunch, & then to nap.  let me just say, it has the check mark of approval for a lazy day.

summer is starting to fade into fall & I absolutely love it.

1. since it's a Sunday afternoon, my brain is in weekend mode, this should explain the blog post title, since it's a little nonexistence.  just don't hold it against me. 

2. these are my new white boyfriend jeans.  they are the perfect fit.

3. everything I am wearing I bought on clearance within the past few weeks. go me 

4. this our new porch, that are landlords finished building this past week.  it is a gorgeous porch that overlooks an amazing view

a couple of things  about this post: 

1. this is a huge hill in my backyard.  I can't wait until snow falls, it is going to be the perfect sledding hill.

2. it is H  O  T  in Spokane.  it has nothing on Florida H  O  T, but ac units are not in all of the houses & restaurants, so I have been dying of heat.  

3.  I found a hat that fits my over large head, the trick is to shop in the men's department for hats.

busy life

the past six weeks have been the definition of b  u   s   y.

we moved into a new house or can I say a new trailer the past month.  it's located on top of a hill out in the country side with the perfect view.  we have cherry trees in our yard & a beautiful patio which has already been used for a BBQ with friends.

from a work perspective, my new target store opened up two weeks ago.  this has been the main reason for the leave of absence from this little blog outlet.  before the store opened, I was working 55 +  hours a week to help build our store.  now it is opened up on South Hill, and I am back to a regular working schedule.  the store is gorgeous and I am so proud of my team.

friday favorites

Does everyone have that day where you just wear all of your favorite pieces of clothing?  Yesterday, was that day for me; I wore my favorite necklace, favorite t - shirt, & favorite pair of jeans. And let's just say it was a pretty awesome day.  I got to wander around Target as a guest, & not an employee, which was fun since I haven't been in a store for a couple of weeks.  Then came home & caught up on Homeland episodes.

I know, totally awesome / lazy day.  However, on the bright side I received a handful of compliments on my outfit, which always makes a day better.  

So today, give some a compliment on their outfit, I promise it will make you & the other person smile. happy friday, folks.

my summer will be spent like this.

The past 24 years of my life, summers were always hot, sticky, & sweaty.  North Florida is home to the humidity, so my thought process of getting ready is trying to wear the lightest clothes.

In Washington, I have worn shorts twice this summer.  There is no humidity here, so it's always the perfect summer day.  I have realized that boyfriend jeans, and a cute top are my go to outfits for living in the Northwest.

clearance steals & deals | part 2

 

 

 

When I go shopping, I always look for clearance steals or a 50% sale throughout the store.  Now a days, all store's merchandise will end up on clearance or sale so why not save your money and spend it on another cute top on sale. 

Point of the post: this top is from Banana Republic, I found it on the sale rack at $18 and these high waisted black jeans are from Gap for $30, I also got these pants in a dark denim. 

*So after our vacation, I realized that I lost my camera charger.  These pictures are from my lovely iPhone.  Fingers crossed, a new camera charger or (possibly) a new camera will be in my hands sooner than later.

 From a reader's perspective, how does the iPhone pictures look?  Are they okay?  Are iPhone pictures acceptable for a blog?
