I spotted this neon yellow sweater at work last week and it caught my attention 

*everything at work catches my attention, though*

The color definitely scared me since I haven't seen the sun in a while.  Bright colors and a white skin tone . . .  scary.  But I took the plunge and bought it.  Surprising it doesn't look too totally horrible with my white pale skin.  

Regardless of the neon yellow, the sweater is comfortable and my boyfriend jeans were excited to come out of my closet (it was 60 degrees out last week!)

Last night, was date night with Cody.  We went to our favorite restaurant, Waddell's, to eat & drink.  Our date nights aren't really nights, we are more of late afternoon dinner eaters.  After working for 8 hours in red & khaki, I have like 15 minutes to get ready.  

With that being said, I try to cut some time by, wearing my blouse that I wore to work.  Yesterday, it was this shirt.   I am that girl who wears red cardigans & cute blouses.  This is how I deal with wearing red & khaki every day.  I came home and threw on this peach colored shirt over my tee shirt.  Since I don't live in Florida, I have no tan, I was pretty nervous to wear this top with my pale skin & blonde hair.  But I did it anyway, and guess what, no one gave me any weird stares. 

Plus, these two colors shouldn't look good together but they do and I like it.

a fall day in florida

Being home with my family for the past ten days has been amazing & exhausting all at the same time.

When I walked out of the airport, I was hit with the Florida humidity (something that I was getting use to not having around in Washington).  It took a while trying to get use to the hottness, you would think that since I have lived in this weather for 24 years it wouldn't bother me.. Well it does ..

The last day of my vacation home, I woke up to 70 degree weather and hardly any humidity.  I felt like I was back in Washington.  So in honor of it being a fall like day, I decided to dress like one.

lazy day outfit

there is not anything as basic as a pair of boyfriend jeans, a striped tee shirt, & a pair of leopard print flats.  this outfit was worn to shop to pick up new khakis for work, pick up chipotle for lunch, & then to nap.  let me just say, it has the check mark of approval for a lazy day.

my summer will be spent like this.

The past 24 years of my life, summers were always hot, sticky, & sweaty.  North Florida is home to the humidity, so my thought process of getting ready is trying to wear the lightest clothes.

In Washington, I have worn shorts twice this summer.  There is no humidity here, so it's always the perfect summer day.  I have realized that boyfriend jeans, and a cute top are my go to outfits for living in the Northwest.

Road Trip | Redwood Forest

After Portland, we stopped in a small city in Northern California to stay the night before we stopped in to see the beautiful Redwood Trees.

|Chandelier Tree; California has 3 of these drive through trees.  We found one & had to drive through it on our way through the Redwoods.  Cody has a truck so it was a little tricky to get his vehicle through the tree.  The truck had about half an inch on either sides of the tree & I thought we were going to get stuck. |

|I had to get a few outfit pictures in the forest.  The lighting turned out pretty bad since the trees are massive they covered  up the sun!  Let's get real though, this post is all about the trees!|




With completing a 16 hour road trip down a coast, I realized that packing basics that can layer easily is the best way to pack for road trips.  The weather can be a very tricky thing to keep in mind while packing for a week long trip, especially when you are stopping in different cities down a coast.  I made sure to bring multiple short & long sleeve shirts, button ups, & my handy dandy leather jacket (more about this basic later).

I don't have a ton to say for this post.  This is the definition of a very lazy basic outfit.  Cozy cardigan, boyfriend jeans, & a cute necklace to make it look some what .. ya know, cute.

Main point of this post is.. I can finally wear sandals!  My feet have never been happier & the weather is suppose to hit 70 degrees this week.  Let's just say I might have to go shopping for some shorts & a nice tan this week.

I am a huge fan of chambray tops & an even bigger fan of slouchy t - shirts.  Then when you add your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans plus a new sparkly necklace that you just had to have from a new favorite online store. .. 

Well you have yourself a perfect outfit.  These are my favorite outfit pieces to wear.  It's perfect for morning coffee, shopping with your mamma through text (I swear it's a lot more fun to shop with your mamma in person but when you live on the other side of the nation, you have to find ways to shop with your favorite shopping person), or to just play in the back yard with your favorite puppy..

For the last kicker, today in Spokane it was 55 degrees outside.  I jumped for joy because of how warm it was outside.  Come on 75 degrees, I need a TAN!
