a fall day in florida

Being home with my family for the past ten days has been amazing & exhausting all at the same time.

When I walked out of the airport, I was hit with the Florida humidity (something that I was getting use to not having around in Washington).  It took a while trying to get use to the hottness, you would think that since I have lived in this weather for 24 years it wouldn't bother me.. Well it does ..

The last day of my vacation home, I woke up to 70 degree weather and hardly any humidity.  I felt like I was back in Washington.  So in honor of it being a fall like day, I decided to dress like one.

lazy day outfit

there is not anything as basic as a pair of boyfriend jeans, a striped tee shirt, & a pair of leopard print flats.  this outfit was worn to shop to pick up new khakis for work, pick up chipotle for lunch, & then to nap.  let me just say, it has the check mark of approval for a lazy day.

summer is starting to fade into fall & I absolutely love it.

my summer will be spent like this.

The past 24 years of my life, summers were always hot, sticky, & sweaty.  North Florida is home to the humidity, so my thought process of getting ready is trying to wear the lightest clothes.

In Washington, I have worn shorts twice this summer.  There is no humidity here, so it's always the perfect summer day.  I have realized that boyfriend jeans, and a cute top are my go to outfits for living in the Northwest.

You know that day, when you finally give in & invest in a piece of clothing.  Mine is this J.Crew Factory Vest.  It was on sale for an extra 30% off, so I talked myself into buying it because I haven't been able to find a vest anywhere else.  

To my surprise when I walked into our Old Navy.. what did I find..?  The same exact vest, for about $20 cheaper.  Let's just say I was not a happy camper.  But what can I say..?!

Also, today was the first day I wore this necklace with an outfit & I was so excited to take pictures of it.  However, when we took pictures I forgot about wearing this necklace.  I promise it will be worn again & better pictures of it will be taken!

I am the type of girl who once she finds something she likes.. she wears it ALL THE TIME.  This is how I feel about my leopard print scarf.  I just love it & I don't have anything else to say. 

Anyways, the basics of this outfit is; I just got off work & I was tired so this comfy sweater kept me warm from the 18 degree weather.  You know.. the outfit is the definition of the lazy basics.

You know those days when you can't get a good picture for anything.  Well Friday was that day, the sun was shining in my eyes & I couldn't keep my eyes open for anything!  

Enough of the complaining, after a long day of work, I always opt for comfy attire.  A warm sweater & a beanie (to hide my dirty hair) is the best way to go for running errands.
